「綠怪」史萊克的故事依然在延續。而這一次，愛人朋友卻一個都不少。如願和心愛的菲奧娜公主結成連理之後，史萊克終於能在眾朋友的陪伴下在自己的沼澤叢林樂園裡過著幸福的小日子了，然而等著他們的卻是繼承「遙遠王國」的國王和王后之位的使命。別說懶散成性的史萊克了，就連曾經尊貴美麗的菲奧娜公主，也分外掛念沼澤地裡的泥藻谷和自由廣闊的生活

　　兩人一心想離去，而病重的老國王哈羅德顯然又無法繼續操勞國事。雙方在一番爭吵之後終於想出了一個折衷的解決辦法，由史萊克帶著他的兩個貼身好友，那只話癆一般的貧嘴驢和關鍵時刻玩可憐的靴子貓，一同去把即將從學校畢業的菲奧娜的堂弟亞蒂接回王國繼承王位。而這個亞蒂小子乃是中學裡的懶鬼學生，要說服他回國做正經事當國王，簡直比太陽從西邊出來還困難。還好，三個傢伙的一番軟磨硬泡下來，亞蒂終於同意成行。

　　四人的回國之旅終於開始，不過也是熱鬧非凡。先是史萊克發明了所謂的圓桌騎士，然後是貧嘴驢的靈魂一度爬上了穿靴貓的身上，頗為騎士的貓兒一度像驢先生那樣語速奇快、出口成章，後來亞蒂居然把他自個兒的神劍賜給了貧嘴驢，而驢先生居然還變成了當初把劍送給亞蒂的「湖中女神」。與此同時，隻身在王國陪伴父母的菲奧娜公主卻顯然遇到了不小的麻煩。她眼看著不甘心王位旁落他人的帥氣的查明王子糾結了一幫邪惡的海盜，殺回遙遠王國，計劃掀起一場大叛亂，企圖一舉奪走王位。而已然深受丈夫史萊克影響的菲奧娜卻不會輕易忍受邪惡來襲。和母后等一幫宮內女性們攜手組織了一支婦女自救隊，將王國裡那些嬌生慣養的公主們通通組織起來，練習武功等種種鬥爭技巧，堅持與查明王子的烏合之眾抗爭到底。而她的自救隊中儘是些童話故事裡知名的主兒，給前來進攻的叛軍製造了無數麻煩。白雪公主、灰姑娘、睡美人、長髮姑娘，連酒吧間女生男相的「老闆娘」都加入進來，用她的「美色」成功誘惑了叛軍的守衛。

　　最後，及時趕回王國的四人與王國內的婦女自救隊成功匯合，與查明王子的反叛軍展開了一場令人啼笑皆非的「生死」大決戰……

2007 Shrek the Third :

Being king isn't for everyone - especially if you're a prickly ogre who smells like the shallow end of a swamp. When Shrek married Fiona, the last thing he wanted was to rule Far Far Away, but when his frog-in- law, King Harold, suddenly croaks, Shrek is quickly fitted for the crown. Now, unless the reluctant would-be king can find a suitable replacement, he'll be royally screwed for the rest of his days. As if Shrek didn't have enough on his plate, Princess Fiona has another little surprise on the way. With his head spinning and his belly in knots, Shrek sets off on a quest to find the only other possible heir to the throne, Fiona's long-lost cousin Artie, an underachieving medieval high schooler.

While the ogre is away, his old nemesis Prince Charming rears his handsome head and returns to the kingdom of Far Far Away with redemption on his shallow little mind. Even with Donkey and the ever-so-suave Puss In Boots by their side, it's going to take an ogre-sized effort - and a whole lot of help from Fiona and her band of princesses - for Shrek and Artie to save the day and find their own 'Happily Ever Afters.'

'Shrek the Third' brings back the inimitable voices of Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Antonio Banderas as Puss In Boots, Julie Andrews and John Cleese as Queen Lillian and King Harold and Rupert Everett as Prince Charming. Joining the stellar voice cast are: Grammy(R) Award- winning singer and actor Justin Timberlake ('Alpha Dog') as Artie, the king-in-waiting; Eric Idle of Monty Python fame as Merlin the magician; the 'Saturday Night Live' trio Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph and alumni Cheri Oteri as Snow White, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty respectively; Amy Sedaris ('Strangers With Candy') as Cinderella; John Krasinski (TV's 'The Office') as Lancelot; Ian McShane ('Deadwood') as Captain Hook; and talk show hosts Larry King as the ugly stepsister Doris and Regis Philbin as Mabel, the other ugly stepsister. The computer-animated comedy was directed by Chris Miller and co-directed by Raman Hui, with Aron Warner producing, Andrew Adamson and John H. Williams executive producing and Denise Nolan Cascino co-producing. Jeffrey Price & Peter S. Seaman and Chris Miller & Aron Warner wrote the screenplay from a story by Andrew Adamson.
