英格蘭風情

英國（England）是歐洲最大的島國，位於歐洲大陸西海岸外的不列顛群島上.這個國家包括英格蘭（England）、威爾士（wales）、蘇格蘭（scotland ）和北愛爾蘭（Northern Ireland）四個部分，由於英格蘭在全國的地位重要，人口又佔絕大多數，所以習慣上把聯合王國簡稱為英格蘭或英 國.

英國是個美麗的國家，文物古跡比比皆是，自然風景秀麗可餐，旅遊資源豐富。許多城市，如「萬城之花」倫敦，「北方雅典」愛丁堡，大學城牛津、 劍橋，古色古香的約克城，莎翁故鄉斯特拉特福都是享有世界聲譽的旅遊名城。英國還辟有湖區等幾十座國家公園和風景保護區。目前，被聯合國列入 世界文化和自然遺產的名勝古跡和天然景觀就有14處，即倫敦塔、威斯敏斯特宮（國會大廈）、布倫海姆宮（牛津附近），坎特伯雷主教堂、巴斯城、 索爾茲伯裡郊區的巨石陣等遺跡，鐵橋峽，方廷斯修道院及園林、達勒姆的大教堂和古城堡、哈德良長城，圭內斯的城堡群，蘇格蘭的聖基爾達群島， 北愛蘭的「巨人之路」和太平洋上的英國屬地享德森珊瑚島。它們富有特色、各擅其長，都是極受遊客青睞的觀光熱點。
